Brain Teaser for 2/6/2016

1. A certain family party consisted of 1 grandfather, 1 grandmother, 2 fathers, 2 mothers, 4 children, 3 grandchildren, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 2 sons, 2 daughters, 1 father-in-law, 1 mother-in-law and 1 daughter-in-law. This may appear to add up to 23 people but was in fact only 7.
Who all was the party?

2. A man went into a bank with exactly $1,000 in silver dollars. He gave them to a cashier and asked the cashier to put the money into 10 bags is such a way that if he later needed any amount of dollars up to $1,000, he could lay his hands on that amount without needing to open any of the bags. How did the cashier achieve this?
